Artist Statement
Like most children, my first artistic
exposure came at an early age, coloring with
crayons and cutting with blunted scissors.
These days the use of gluing with flour
paste, which my grandmother mixed for me,
may not be so common. Through the
years I have learned the importance of good
tools and the ongoing improvement of skills.
During my childhood, when my time was not
spent coloring and pasting, I was outdoors.
This formed my interest in nature and color.
Watercolor and pastels give me the
opportunity to express and experiment with
both.
Tranquility is a must in my life, which
does not always come easy. Watercolors
seemed to help find that serenity.
Once a painting has been finished, I hope to
evoke a sense of harmony that will be
present to the viewer instantaneously.
